Victoria Steele
Marketing Consultant

I’ve spent 15 years in marketing, agency-side and in-house, which means I’ve written the proposals and I’ve also been the person paying for them. I know what a good agency plan looks like, and I can usually spot whether it’s a good investment.

Marketing consultancy is for when you don’t need someone running your marketing, but you do need an expert to look at it properly and tell you what they’d do.

As your Marketing Consultant, you get:

Why bring in a Marketing Consultant?

Plenty of marketing problems don't need a director in the building two days a week.

You may need expert eyes on a plan that your marketing executive has pulled together and it looks sensible, but you want to know whether it is. Or maybe your agency has sent over a proposal with a big number at the bottom, and you want someone who has written those proposals to tell you which parts you need. Or leads have gone quiet and nobody can explain why.

In each case you need senior judgement. That's what consultancy gives you - you stay in charge of the decisions and your team or agency keeps delivering. My job is to make sure the decisions are good ones.

Who this is for

How it works

We can start in as little as 3 days - this is how it works.

Discovery call

A free 15 minute discovery call to understand what you’re dealing with and whether consultancy is the right answer.

If so, I’ll share with you the options.

Book

Choose a single session or a block of hours. Hours are paid upfront and can be used any time within three months.

Use

Spend your hours however the business needs them. An hour on a video call to sense-check a plan. A half day on site with your team mapping out a campaign. A review of an agency proposal or monthly report, with written feedback. Or a seat in your next agency meeting, asking the questions you’d like asked.

Don't just take my word for it

Hear it directly from the clients who's businesses I've impacted.

You may have questions...

A Marketing Consultant provides senior marketing advice, bought by the hour. You bring a specific challenge, question, or decision, and I bring 15 years of marketing experience to help you work through it.

This isn’t about writing a plan or delivering a campaign. It’s about giving you access to senior-level marketing thinking when you need it, so you can make better decisions with confidence.

You buy hours, either one at a time or in a block, and use them however suits you. A single session over video call works well for a sense check, a second opinion on a campaign, or working through a specific question. A longer session (half day or full day) works better if there’s something more substantial to work through with your team. Sessions are paid for upfront, and blocks must be used within three months of purchase.

Usually within 3 working days. But if you need something more urgent, let me know when you get in touch and I’ll do what I can.

The level of involvement. In consultancy sessions, I advise, and you decide and deliver. A Fractional Marketing Director runs your marketing function day to day, manages your team and agencies, and is accountable for the outcome. Consultancy is deliberately the lighter of the two: it’s for when you need a senior marketing brain to think alongside you, not someone to own the whole function.

My clients often start with consultancy or strategy and move to fractional once they know what they need.

Not as standard. The sessions are for thinking things through, and people generally take their own notes. You are welcome to use an AI notetaker on the call. If you need a documented strategy or plan, the Marketing Strategy service is the better fit.

Yes, and it’s often the most useful way to do it. A session with your marketing team working through a live campaign or challenge tends to achieve more than an hour with just one person. The more context in the room, the better the outcome.
